Each week has a different theme and while you are encouraged to dress in theme, it is not a requirement. Some of our Mondays are "themeless" where you can dress however you want. If you would like to outfit yourself for certain themes, we recommend shopping at Masquerade, a costume store located on 1100 Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia.

It's easy to get to Tavern on Camac! From I-676, take the Broad Street exit, which places you onto 15th Street. Drive down 15th to Locust, turn left, and drive 4 blocks up. Camac Street is a little side street that you can enter by foot on Locust in the middle of the block between 12th and 13th. Uncles Bar is at the corner of Locust and Camac, so just walk down Camac Street and the club is right there on the left side. We always begin our night at the first floor piano bar and then head upstairs to the dance floor at 10pm. Tavern on Camac is not wheelchair accessible.

Plenty of off-street parking is available thoughout the Gayborhood: at the corner of 12th & Walnut; on 12th Street across from the 12th Street Gym; on 11th Street between Pine & Spruce Streets; on Juniper Street across from Sisters and Key West; and at the corner of 13th and Locust across from Bump, Pure, and Woody's. Of course, if you find a spot on the street, take it! Just be careful on 13th Street ... parking there becomes restricted after 9pm. The parking garage on the corner of Juniper and Locust offers $9 parking with a validated ticket (ask the coat check person at Tavern on Camac to validate). The area is heavily patrolled by police during all hours of the night making it one of the safest areas of the city.

Which Monday of the month is the party on? EVERY Monday night except for Christmas and New Year's if they fall on Mondays.

Where is the party? The party is at Tavern on Camac located on tiny cobblestone-laden Camac street. You can't drive down this street. You have to walk to get to the club. The exact address is 243 South Camac Street in Philadelphia.

What is the cover charge? There is no cover charge. Monday Night Tgirls is a FREE party. We are a bunch of cool tgirls who believe in improving the quality of the transgender party scene in Philadelphia. There are two ways to support our party: come to the parties or subscribe to KalinaIsato.com. Even if you can't come to the parties, subscribing to KalinaIsato.com helps pay for this web site and promotional materials for the party.

Where do I park? Park your car in the parking garage at Locust and Juniper and get your ticket validated at Tavern on Camac for the special $9 evening rate. You can also find free street parking if you don't mind walking a few blocks.

What is the age range of your partygoers? It's a 21+ party so we've had guys and girls as young as 21 to as old as 60-something. I believe the large age range is typical of most tranny parties and speaks of the diversity of the crowd.

Are guys welcome? Yes, many girls here love gentlemen who appreciate them, so show respect to everyone because every girl is at a different point in her gender transition path.

Is there a tgirl admirer etiquette that guys need to be aware of? Guys, this is your chance to socialize with us girls. Be nice to us, talk to us, and show us how you appreciate us. Many guys believe that the only "hot" transsexuals in the world are the ones who have an hourly rate. This party was created to defy that notion as you will see many fine examples of the hottest transsexuals on the planet here who do not charge a dime for their time. NO GROPING WITHOUT PERMISSION. Also, do not lie to us and tell us you just stumbled into the bar. Nobody stumbles into Tavern on Camac. Since it's not on a major street, you really have to know where it is.

What is the party like? Imagine a relaxed bar and lounge atmosphere devoid of escorts, go-go dancers, and strippers. Imagine an open and accepting environment for beginning, intermediate, and advanced crossdressers and transsexuals and their friends, lovers, and admirers. Your attendance will help make this fun party flourish and we want you to tell your friends that Monday Night Tgirls in Philadelphia is the place to be. We average 25 to 40 people per night which means everyone gets an equal chance to socialize with everyone else. Our party is only at Tavern on Camac on Mondays, but a few tgirls go there on other nights. Drink prices range from $4 specials to $8 top-shelf martinis. As with any reputable gay bar, drinks are STRONG. THIS IS NOT A PRIVATE SEX OR FETISH PARTY. Our rep is so clean that we're PG-13.

What is Tavern on Camac like? Tavern on Camac is a multi-level club with a restaurant in the basement, piano bar on the ground level, and dance club on the upper level. The environment is relaxed and friendly and there are straight, gay, lesbian, and transgender people drinking and socializing there.

If I come as a boy, are there rooms to change? Yes, there is a bathroom on the upper level that has large stalls that you can change in, but we recommend not spending too much time in one since there will be others waiting. It is your responsibility to keep your valuables with you at all times.

When does the party start and end? The party officially starts at 9pm. Some girls arrive prior to 9pm to change or socialize with others. The piano bar atmosphere is generally warm and cozy and you will find a mix of gays, lesbians, and transgender people there on any given night of the week. Depending on the number of guests, the party usually ends around 1am. The group usually hangs out at the piano bar until 10:30pm and then moves upstairs to the dance club.

Why is the party on Monday nights? Many part-time tgirls have families and can't go out on weekends. We figured transsexuals can go out any night of the week and we didn't want to exclude anyone at our parties, so we chose Monday night as our official party night and it's worked very well for us. Is there a dress code? Clothes reflect the person, so dress fashionably. If there is a theme for the week, we encourage you to dress in the theme, but it is not required. This is a casual lounge atmosphere so jeans and sneakers are acceptable. It is also a PG-13 party so clothing and shoes are required. Nudity is not allowed. Outrageous costumes that show no nudity are accepted and even praised.

What is your photo and video policy? You may take pictures of anyone who gives you permission. My photographers take pictures and tape videos of everything, so if you don't want to be in a picture or video, please wear our CHERRY WRISTBAND (available for $5 at the party or online) inside out with the white lettering not showing. Owners of first generation cherry wristbands need not flip their wristbands inside out. Bear in mind that we have made significant investments in our photography equipment, so if you would like us to take pictures of you that we can email to you without showing them on this web site, there will be a small fee for this service.

What are these wristbands everyone is wearing? Our wristbands make it easy for everyone to determine who's into what, who doesn't want pictures taken, etc. Some guys want to know if a girl is into guys or girls. Girls who aren't into guys wear PURPLE WRISTBANDS. We also have PINK WRISTBANDS for the fashion femmes and cutiepies. We even have HOLIDAY WRISTBANDS! All wristbands are available for $5 each at the party.

How do you handle harassment? Harrassment of any kind will not be tolerated. If someone is treating you unfairly, bring it to a cast member's attention and we will inform the club's management to take care of the situation. Everyone, whether they are crossdresser or transsexual, will be treated equally at our parties.

Girls! Kalina will be available to do your makeup at every party but you must contact her first to reserve her time and pay a nonrefundable deposit. The cost of this service is $50 of which 50% will go to Renaissance Transgender Association. Please bring your girl clothes, wig (if needed), jewelry, etc. You may also bring your own makeup if you feel comfortable with certain products. Cash payment is due at the time of service and the deposit is nonrefundable if you cancel.

RENAISSANCE TRANSGENDER SUPPORT GROUP

Renaissance will hold its monthly Center City meetings the last Monday of every month at 8pm at Tavern on Camac at 243 South Camac Street in Philadelphia. After the meeting, join the girls of Monday Night Tgirls for drinks and socializing. No need to walk to another place! Meetings will be held by demand. Please contact Kristin Nichols if you would like to attend.

Many of you might feel uncomfortable going out en femme for the first time. We know that when some of you work up the nerve to drive long distances to go to a tgirl party, you might drive around a club a few times to scope out the place before you feel comfortable enough to park and enter. Unfortunately, Tavern on Camac is located in a little alley street that doesn't permit cars, so walking to the club is mandatory. If you would feel more comfortable walking with someone, we're here to help. Alexander Inn, corner of 12th and Spruce St, is a fabulous hotel only one block away from Tavern on Camac. Seven different room rates ($119 to $159) for seven different room sizes. Check in 3pm. Check out noon.

Uncle's Upstairs Inn, corner of Locust and Camac Streets, is a no-frills hotel only a few steps away from Tavern on Camac. Rates are $132 per night. There are no elevators in this three-floor building. Cast member Michelle recommends this hotel.
